Designing a Faster Food Ordering Experience
Designing to Minimize Cognitive Load in Quick-Commerce
Swish is a quick-commerce food delivery app focused on 10 minutes delivery. While speed is its core promise, users still spend several minutes browsing, deciding, and navigating before placing an order creating friction in an otherwise time sensitive experience.
This project explores how thoughtful UX decisions can reduce cognitive load, improve discoverability, and help users place orders faster without sacrificing trust or clarity.
How might we reduce the time users spend across the ordering journey to under ~3 minutes?

What users need to feel confident and move faster

What I learned
Speed isn’t just delivery time, it’s decision time.
Reducing mental effort can be just as impactful as optimizing logistics.
Familiarity builds trust faster than novelty.
Using known patterns helps users move quickly and confidently.
